Why did you choose to study in China?

What I like most is the education quality of China. China has several top-ranking universities that offer a wide range of programmes. Especially, in fields like Engineering and Technology, the ranking can be quite high. Chinese culture places a high value on education and learning. The Confucian philosophy, which emphasizes the importance of education, has deeply influenced Chinese society for centuries. This cultural heritage places a strong emphasis on the pursuit of knowledge, respect for education, and scholarly achievements.

What do you like most about China?

I fell in love with China because of the hospitality and warmth of Chinese people, who are often known for their hospitality, generosity, and kindness toward guests and visitors. In addition, China’s landscape is beautiful, from the karst mountains in Guilin to bustling cities like Shanghai and Beijing, China offers a diverse range of landscapes that include picturesque countryside, serene rivers, and modern urban settings.

How did IFP help you improve your Chinese?

Throughout a year of studying basic Chinese language with CCN at the IFP Center of Tianjin University, the teachers have effectively curated methods to enhance the language skills of every student. This has enabled us to comfortably communicate in daily life using intermediate-level Chinese. They have also laid a strong foundation for self-learning methods, which is highly beneficial for advancing into higher levels of Chinese language proficiency and for Master’s degree studies taught in Chinese.

How did IFP prepare you academically for degree study in a Chinese university?

I am immensely grateful for the provision of Chinese language courses designed for mathematics and physics here. These courses emphasize the usage and grammar of specific terminologies, which significantly differ from the basic Chinese language. This foundation is highly beneficial for further academic pursuits in Chinese universities. Additionally, the coursework on research methodologies equips me with invaluable skills that I can apply throughout my academic career. I deeply appreciate the comprehensive preparation offered through all the courses here, which have truly readied the students for our academic journeys.
