CCN International Borderless Campus (IBC) Launch Ceremony and International Forum on ‘Accelerate Global Mobility in Higher Education Infrastructure Strategy and University-Enterprise Collaboration Innovation’ were held with success.

On the morning of August 23rd, the CCN International Borderless Campus Launch Ceremony and International Forum, hosted by China Campus Network (CCN) and “Belt and Road” Talent Cultivation School-Enterprise Alliance (UEA), was held in 15 cities including Shanghai and Guiyang and 11 countries including China, Russia, Kazakhstan and Vietnam in the opening days of the 2022 China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week in an online-offline integrated manner. Professor Gao Jing, Dean of the Overseas Education College of Jiangsu University, was the moderating the event. Mr. Liu Baoli, Executive Secretary of the Organizing Committee of the China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week and Chairman of the “Belt and Road” Talent Cultivation University-Enterprise Alliance, attended the event and delivered a speech. More than 10 university leaders from different countries, including Professor Yan Xiaohong, President of Jiangsu University; Professor Zhang Rongjun, Vice President of Xi’an Shiyou University; Professor Chen Zhihua, Vice President of Tianjin Chengjian University; Professor Maratbek Gabdullin, Rector of Kazakh-British Technical University; Professor Margolin Andrey, Vice Rector of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration; Dr. Ha Le Kim Anh, Vice Rector of University of Languages and International Studies of Vietnam National University, attended the event.

As one of the signature projects of the China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week, the forum focused on the topic “Accelerate Global Mobility in Higher Education-Infrastructure Strategy and University-Enterprise Collaboration Innovation”. More than 240 participants, including representatives from more than 30 Chinese universities and more than 10 overseas universities, representatives of enterprises such as Sunon Furniture and Alibaba GDT Network, CCN Local Offices as well as CCN outstanding graduates; gathered online and offline to discuss and exchange their ideas at the forum and to witness the establishment of the CCN International Borderless Campus.

On the basis of the university and enterprises guests` discussion on the significance, practice and achievements of global mobility in higher education, Ms. Yang Jingsi, Deputy Secretary-General of CCN, introduced the background and vision of the establishment of CCN International Borderless Campus (IBC) and how it will further promote the global mobility in higher education to the audience.

She pointed out: Initiated by China Campus Network (CCN) and “Belt and Road” Talents Cultivation University-Enterprise Alliance (UEA), the CCN International Borderless Campus (hereinafter referred to as “CCN IBC”) is launched and established in partnership with universities and enterprises in China and overseas, with a commitment to accelerating global mobility of key elements in HE in the era of digital economy, promoting high-level development and digital transformation of international cooperation in HE, developing international talents with “a global mindset”, “cross-cultural communicative competency” and “digital competitiveness”, and boosting global economic recovery and social development. 

In the principle of equality, cooperation, development and voluntary compliance, CCN IBC aims to maximise the unique features and resources of the member universities and enterprises through the model of “N to N” to undertake complementary and sustainable collaborative practice, enhance competitiveness through partnership, and further strengthen internationalisation of IBC members in China and overseas.

“In the post-epidemic era and in the face of future developments, opportunities and challenges will coexist. How to enhance international cooperation in higher education, transcend the development of higher education institutions at a higher level on the basis of the original bilateral or multilateral basis, transcend the boundaries of universities, dismantle physical walls, expand cooperation frontiers, and build a fair and just international order of higher education has become a topic that we must think deeply about and actively explore.”

Mr. Liu Baoli, Executive Secretary of the China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week Organizing Committee, said that the establishment of the ‘CCN International Borderless Campus’ in this context is very timely and necessary to promote the global mobility of key elements in the field of higher education in the era of digital economy and represents a new model of high-level development of international cooperation in higher education.

Mr. Liu expressed a sincerely wish that “CCN International Borderless Campus can become a big platform link, abiding by the law, on the basis of respecting diversity and mutual benefit principles, adhere to the “alliance strategy” and “infrastructure strategy” advocated by it, continue to attract high-quality universities and enterprise members to join, continue to optimize and upgrade the public infrastructure system services of cross-border education, improve the efficiency of cooperation, and carry out high-quality and sustainable cross-border education cooperation practices between Chinese and foreign universities and between Chinese and foreign universities and enterprises, promote the high-level development and digital transformation of international cooperation in higher education in the post-epidemic era, and continue to move towards building an academic community, a world youth community, a socially responsible community and a community with a shared future for mankind.”
